Othello Park

Othello Park is a seven-story, 106-unit affordable housing development located one block south of the Othello light-rail station and directly across from the Othello Park and Playfield. The building form and uses are organized to take advantage of the unique site geometry and spacious right-of-way along the park-facing facade. At the ground level, residents and community members can access a community room, community kitchen, computer room, leasing office, and supportive services. Residential units on the six upper floors are made up one-, two-, and three-bedroom units affordable to those making up to 60% Area Median Income. A generous, seventh-story community room with outdoor terrace provides south-facing views across the park and neighborhood to Mt. Rainier, an amenity not often found in affordable housing. An internal courtyard brings light and air to the interior of the site and provides space for bioretention planters that will manage 75% of onsite stormwater management. The project meets Washington State’s Evergreen Sustainable Development Standard.
